Gentle giant
I met this gentle giant at Pinnawela's Elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka. Though probably not evident from the snap, he is blind on both eyes. This 'senior citizen' of 50 years was rendered so by the raging wars in his home jungles of Jaffna. My whole hearted appreciation to the people and the government of Sri Lanka for this unique orphanage for these pachyderms.
On one side man destroys...and thankfully there are some who love nature and want to conserve it!

Nice to see you back man...awesome pictures you have here...i have a question...which resort in poovar is this you went to...though so close to tvm i have never been there...i'd like to spend a day there in december.
